Shocking development for Indian football as FIFA 2022 immediately suspends AIFF

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been suspended immediately, FIFA, the governing body of football, stated on Tuesday.

The All India Football Federation has been suspended, according to an announcement made on Tuesday by FIFA, the world’s football governing body (AIFF).

The Council Bureau of the organisation reached a consensus on the choice. The decision was made under the influence of third parties, which may be a serious infraction of its statutes.

According to a press release issued by the All India Football Federation, “the Council Bureau unanimously voted to suspend the All India Football Federation with immediate effect because of excessive interference from third parties, which represents a grave violation of its Statutes.”

The federation added that the suspension would be lifted immediately because the decision to create a committee of administrators to act in the AIFF Executive Committee’s place had been changed and because the AIFF administration had regained full control over the organization’s day-to-day operations.

According to the announcement, the Under-17 Women’s tournament 2022, which was supposed to take place in India from October 11–30, 2022, can no longer be hosted there as planned.

In addition, FIFA is assessing the tournament’s next steps and will bring the issue to the Bureau of the Council if and when appropriate.

“FIFA is up-to-date with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in India,” the discharge states, “and has good hopes that a favourable outcome to the matter may still be obtained.”
